Brownstones to walk-ups, building rules sorted before crew day

Submitting this puts you straight into Anthony’s queue — expect a callback from him or Gina the same day, already carrying a crew size, an hourly rate, and whatever paperwork your building needs for your Brooklyn-area move. No call center in between.

Residential moving in this city means dealing with the building as much as the boxes. A Park Slope brownstone with a narrow interior staircase moves differently than a Sunset Park co-op that requires a certificate of insurance before the elevator gets reserved. Gina works the building management side ahead of move day — COI, elevator slot, loading zone — so the crew isn’t standing on the sidewalk waiting for a super to call someone back.

Studio moves run $525–$725 flat, one-bedrooms $725–$1,050, two-bedrooms $1,050–$1,575, and three-bedroom-plus homes $1,575–$2,300. Basic released-value coverage comes standard on every job at no charge; Anthony can add full replacement-value protection at your walkthrough if you want the higher payout ceiling. Bushwick two-families and Brooklyn Heights brownstones each bring their own quirks, and the same crew that does the walkthrough is the crew that shows up on move day.

What’s Included With This Service

  • Building coordination — COI, elevator reservation, loading zone — handled before move day
  • Flat-rate pricing by home size, no hourly surprises for 3BR+
  • Basic released-value coverage included at no charge on every job
  • Optional full replacement-value protection available at the walkthrough
  • Furniture blankets and floor protection for brownstone stairwells

What This Service Costs

Crew size sets your hourly rate — $145/hr for two movers, $190/hr for three, $235/hr for four — and if you’d rather lock in a firm number first, Anthony or Marcus can walk the job ahead of time and write one up

The truck, dollies, and furniture pads all ride inside that hourly rate, nothing billed separately: $145 for two movers, $190 for three, $235 for four, and $50/hr for each additional mover after that. A $175 deposit holds your date and is credited straight to the final invoice. Basic coverage comes standard on every job, and if your building requires a certificate of insurance or a freight elevator reservation, Gina has it arranged before your crew ever shows up.

“Movers were courteous and careful. Did a great job in a fairly short period of time despite having to deal with large bulky furniture, a modest sized elevator and a garage ramp.”

Questions About This Service, Answered

Who handles the certificate of insurance for my building?
Gina, our office manager, requests and delivers the COI to your building management as soon as the move is booked — you don't have to chase it yourself.
Is this a flat rate or hourly?
Residential moves of a bedroom or more are flat-rate, quoted by home size after a walkthrough. Smaller local jobs can run hourly — we'll tell you which applies before you book.
Do you subcontract to other moving companies?
No. Brooklyn Best Movers is owner-operated with our own trucks and crew — we don't outsource residential jobs.

Every line below is a job actually on the board for Brooklyn and the surrounding boroughs this week — most stay inside the five boroughs, with a handful crossing into Long Island or up toward Westchester. Gina builds the week’s schedule from our office on 4th Avenue, and crew chief Yolanda is the one who turns it into truck assignments.

The Paperwork Handled Before The Truck Ever Shows Up.

The person on the phone with you owns every truck on the lot. Anthony started Brooklyn Best Movers in 2014 after six years of watching building supers hold up moves because nobody had booked the elevator or filed the insurance paperwork — so now the COI, the elevator reservation, and the parking plan get locked in the day you book, not scrambled together the morning of.
