Answers to what Brooklyn customers ask most before booking — on pricing, coverage, storage, and the building paperwork we handle up front. Don’t see your question here? Call the office at (718) 502-7431 and someone will walk you through it.

How much does a local move in Brooklyn cost?
Local moves run hourly: $145/hr for a 2-mover crew, $190/hr for 3 movers, $235/hr for 4 movers, and $50/hr for each mover beyond that. For larger households we also quote flat rates — roughly $525–$725 for a studio, $725–$1,050 for a 1BR, $1,050–$1,575 for a 2BR, and $1,575–$2,300 for a 3BR or bigger. A $175 deposit holds your date and is credited to the final invoice. Call (718) 502-7431 for a number specific to your address.
Is Brooklyn Best Movers an actual moving company, or are you just matching me with a carrier?
Yes — Brooklyn Best Movers is a fully licensed and insured moving company based in Brooklyn, NY. We run our own trucks and uniformed crew on every job, licensed with the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, with US DOT and MC authority on file for interstate work.
What makes Brooklyn Best Movers different from other Brooklyn moving companies?
Owner Anthony Ruggiero spent six years watching jobs lose an hour, sometimes the whole slot, because nobody called the building until move-day morning — a certificate of insurance the super suddenly wanted, a freight elevator nobody reserved. Brooklyn Best Movers gets the COI, the elevator reservation, and the parking plan handled when you book, not discovered at the curb with the truck double-parked.
Do you offer storage if my new place isn’t ready?
Yes, in our own warehouse in Sunset Park — not a subleased unit somewhere else in the city. Storage runs $125/month for a studio or 1BR, $185/month for a 2–3BR, and $260/month for a 4BR or larger. It’s flat-rate, so the bill doesn’t change month to month.
What kind of insurance coverage is included?
Every job carries basic released-value coverage at no extra cost, and Anthony will lay out full replacement-value protection at the walkthrough if you'd rather have the higher payout ceiling. We’ll cover both before crew day, not after boxes are already on the truck.
Can you move a piano or other heavy, awkward items?
Yes. Uprights and grand pianos are a flat $295, and gun safes run $250–$385 depending on weight. Both get rigged with a piano board and real straps — not carried down a brownstone stoop by whoever’s closest. Tell us about any piano or safe when you call (718) 502-7431 so the crew brings the right equipment.
How does the deposit and scheduling work?
A $175 deposit holds your date on the crew calendar and gets credited straight to your final invoice — it’s never an extra charge on top of the move. Once the deposit’s in, the office confirms crew size, arrival window, and any building paperwork needed before your date.
What does a long-distance move out of Brooklyn cost?
Interstate moves generally run $800 to $5,800 depending on the route and how much you’re bringing. We run our own trucks the whole way — one crew from Brooklyn to delivery, no handoff to a subcontractor at a warehouse outside the city. Call (718) 502-7431 with your destination and inventory for a firmer number.
Can you handle a last-minute or same-day move?
Often, yes. We keep room in the schedule for last-minute and same-day jobs when a timeline collapses, though availability depends on the week and crew size needed. The building calls — COI, elevator reservation, parking — still get made before the truck leaves the yard, just faster. Call (718) 502-7431 and the office will tell you what’s open.
What areas of Brooklyn do you serve?
All of it — Park Slope, Williamsburg, Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Sunset Park, Flatbush, Greenpoint, and everywhere between. We also run jobs across Kings, Queens, and New York County, plus the ten interstate routes we cover regularly. If you’re not sure your address is in range, call (718) 502-7431 and ask.
What Sets Brooklyn Best Movers Apart Around Brooklyn

Here’s What Brooklyn Best Movers Does Differently Than Most Movers Around Brooklyn

Licensed With NYC’s DCWP — Not Just A Line On The Website

NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection licensing isn’t optional for a mover working Brooklyn, and ours never lapses. Jobs headed past the city line into New Jersey, Connecticut, or beyond run under our own US DOT and MC operating authority instead — also on file well ahead of any move date.

One Protection Conversation, Had Once

Every job carries basic released-value coverage at no extra cost, and Anthony will lay out full replacement-value protection at the walkthrough if you'd rather have the higher payout ceiling You hear the options once, at booking — nobody's pitching an upgrade halfway down your stairwell with a couch on their shoulder.

The COI And Elevator Reservation Are Handled Before Moving Day

Anthony spent six years running crews for a citywide moving outfit where the certificate of insurance and the freight elevator reservation were always a same-day scramble, sorted out in the lobby while a crew stood around waiting on a super. At Brooklyn Best Movers, the COI, the elevator reservation, and the parking plan all get handled the moment your move is booked — not discovered missing when the truck’s already double-parked outside.

All Fourteen Of Us Work Here Full-Time

There’s no rotating bench of day laborers here — all fourteen of us, from the office to the crew, draw a regular paycheck from Brooklyn Best Movers. Alternate-side parking rules and snow emergencies get checked the night before every job, and if the plan changes, the driver’s told where to park before the truck ever leaves 4th Avenue.

The Paperwork Handled Before The Truck Ever Shows Up.

The person on the phone with you owns every truck on the lot. Anthony started Brooklyn Best Movers in 2014 after six years of watching building supers hold up moves because nobody had booked the elevator or filed the insurance paperwork — so now the COI, the elevator reservation, and the parking plan get locked in the day you book, not scrambled together the morning of.
